Rebecca Smith

Managing Director

As Joint Managing Director, Rebecca plays a key role in guiding the practice’s commercial management and shaping its long-term strategic vision. With a solid foundation as a Solicitor, she has accumulated over 11 years of experience in commercial legal roles, both in-house and within private practice. This diverse experience allows her to navigate complex business and legal matters, ensuring the firm’s operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Rebecca’s expertise extends beyond just legal management—her leadership is defined by a strong ability to drive business growth, foster innovation, and maintain positive client relationships. Her strategic approach allows the practice to remain agile and forward-thinking in a competitive market.

Outside of her professional life, Rebecca has a deep passion for travel, seeking to explore new cultures and destinations. She values spending quality time with her family, finding balance between work and personal life.

Josh Mould

ASSOCIATE | RIBA

As a Chartered Architect, Josh brings extensive experience and a practical, hands-on approach to guiding projects from first sketches through to completion. He plays a key role in designing and delivering award-winning work, with a particular focus on private newbuild healthcare schemes and conservationled residential projects. His designs balance creativity with a deep understanding of client needs, technical demands and project goals.

Josh’s architectural style leans toward contemporary design, defined by clean lines, thoughtful detailing and strong connections to place. He excels at resolving complex challenges and ensuring projects meet the highest standards of quality and precision, whether developing modern clinical facilities or sensitively restoring historic homes.

Known for his leadership and collaborative spirit, Josh works closely with clients, consultants and design teams to bring ideas to life and create spaces that perform as beautifully as they look. Outside the studio, he’s an enthusiastic gamer, an active member of the York Architectural Association Committee and is a part-time studio tutor at the University of York.

Martin Smith

Managing Director | RIBA

Martin is a Chartered Architect and Managing Director who brings strong leadership and extensive sector experience to the practice. A graduate of the University of Newcastle, he has built a successful career working across private healthcare, community developments, and other diverse project types. His expertise in Design & Build procurement—common in these sectors—ensures efficient, cost-effective, and highquality project delivery.

With a portfolio ranging from £10m schemes to major projects up to £50m, Martin is well-versed in managing the full journey from concept to construction. His passion for contemporary architecture shines through his work, blending creativity, functionality, and sustainability. As a guiding force behind the practice’s design direction, he has helped deliver numerous award-winning projects.

Collaborative and forward-thinking, Martin fosters a culture of innovation within the team. Beyond the studio, he stays actively engaged with the wider architectural community as well as the local community, ensuring his approach remains fresh, relevant, and impactful.
