Fleet

Fleet Care Home is a new 70-bed development created through the redevelopment of three adjoining properties on the edge of Fleet, near the surrounding countryside. The project was approved through a planning appeal and required a careful and considerate approach to the site and its context.

The design approach prioritised a deep understanding of the local context, adjusting the building's scale and materials to complement its environment, preserving a domestic scale and a residential aesthetic in line with surrounding properties.

Materials have been chosen to harmonise with the building’s surroundings, combining red and dark brick with dark timber-style cladding and natural timber details. Large windows invite natural light into living spaces and offer views of surrounding greenery, ensuring the care home feels light, welcoming and connected to its setting.

The design of Fleet Care Home demonstrates a careful balance between modern innovation and respect for traditional design principles, creating a welcoming and thoughtfully integrated development that provides high-quality care facilities in a setting that is visually sensitive to its surroundings.
