The redevelopment of the former care home site in Westfield presents an exciting opportunity to create a contemporary, sustainable environment within a tranquil woodland clearing. Working with Frontier Estates and Greensleeves, the scheme embraces Low Carbon technologies and targets a BREEAM Excellent rating, placing sustainability at the heart of the design.

Set within the High Weald AONB, the proposal is shaped by its sensitive landscape. Mature trees are thoughtfully retained to form a lush natural backdrop, enhancing the site’s character while providing privacy and softening the building’s presence. These trees also help shield residents from road noise, contributing to a peaceful, restorative setting.

At the centre of the design is a generous courtyard garden, giving all groundfloor rooms direct outdoor access and creating a seamless connection to nature. Firstfloor terraces offer additional views across the landscaped grounds.
The architecture blends red brick, contemporary detailing and timber accents to complement the woodland surroundings. Timber-effect panels reduce visual mass, while generous glazing and verdant planting create an open, inviting feel. Carefully crafted brick features further anchor the building within its local context, delivering a modern yet timeless aesthetic.
